The educational programs on literature aim at the cultivation of love of reading and are intended for primary school children (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades) that take part in compensatory education classes at the KESPEMs. However, these programs could be implemented at schools, as well.
Each program refers to a book, based on which it proposes play-like activities that lead to the use of the Greek language, to the acquisition of vocabulary, to the enhancement of written and artistic expression, to the dramatization, and to fun. The programs have an indirect connection with all the school subjects and the books prepared by the Project.
The selected books are of a wide variety (literary books, illustrated books for children, informational books), with varying degrees of difficulty with regard to their texts, but also with regard to the proposed activities, which have been designed to be carried out either individually or in teams.
The programs, in *.pdf format, are being posted gradually on the Project’s web-site. The teachers can print out either the entire program of the proposed literary book, or specific pages thereof, according to the needs of the class.
For the goals, the rationale, and the many ways one can utilize these programs, see: Educational Programs on Literature: Proposals and Suggestions for a Creative Use of Extracurricural Books [The document is in Greek].
